106 here today in the Mojave Desert. I have not seen young roadrunner
in over a week. Perhaps he hitched a ride to the beach too??

It only takes a few minutes when I hear the distinct call of mom or dad.
Little wren used to fly off immediately....

It has been a blissfully cloud covered 2 days here in the Mojave desert.
As a middle aged Mama who can no long " DO THE HEAT"
Days such as these are a real gift.
Our Baby Wrens are growing at an amazing pace as you can see here.

I Know...I Know.. for all of my vistors who come to see the nature, I
apologize. I had planned on having a seperate blog for The Retro
Ranch,but thus far, time constraints have kept me from completing that
goal. For now we will both have to be Patient while I get my Etsy
shop going.
You know how I adore the hummingbirds; well, the came to the feeder
and porch to find shelter from the storm. I Enjoyed every single
moment of it.

Gone for the Holiday with all 8 hummingbird feeders full, I return to
half full feeders. It has been 5 days and I have not seen one of my
favorite friends.
Could this be an Avian protest?

Tiffany, special thanks for your uplifting comments.

It is so hard to keep my creative momentum flowing with all of me so focused on this campaign with the days hurrying by.

I don't often share personal stuff here, but I will share that I am experiencing a horrible back pain episode-the first one in over a year.
I must confess much anger and loathing over the limitations and discomfort it fills each day with
I had just returned to yoga and daily 3 mile walks. Life had taken on a wonderful rhythm, then one wrong move and I could not stand up straight. 2 treatments by the chiropractor have allowed meto stand up and walk fairly normally
So, I make my get out the vote calls from home, cooped up and praying for patience and grace to ride this through.
My precious whirling angel Toot is now a daily gift sitting just outside my bedroom window-pulling my mind away from my pain and into the wonder this whirling angel brings. He calls me into the present , reminding me of the ever present joy and healing that comes from communing with such an amazing creature.
