That is my dear brother waaaay down below in the hoodoos. Isn't he adorable with his red hat on? Actually I was happy he wore it as it made finding him in groups much easier. He was several legs ahead of me much of this hike . I just had to stop and view this amazing place in my view finder =) So, seeing his red cap up ahead of me let me know that I had not lost my city brother, in the middle of these enormous Red rocks. I want to wish my brother Mark a very Happy Fathers Day To all of you dad's all over the world, Always know how important and amazing you are.
Lets return to the beauty and cool temperatures of Bryce canyon National Park. I return here in my mind so often. to cool myself off
-to breathe the clean -clear cool air
to experience the lightness of being I felt hiking this incredible place.
Have I mentioned it has been 100+ degrees here in the Mojave Desert??
I have over 1500 shots from these glorious days, so I am taking my time in viewing and picking my favorites.I still have not figured out how to create posts from within the type pad composer
Every time i type a few sentences then attempt to add a photo-the pictures wont upload-Grrrrrrrr
So , i must send my posts direct from flickr.
Perhaps i will figure out the details before i am 50
looking upon the endless hues and textures excite my senses. I have over a thousand shots from our day here in the wonder that is Zion National park ;however, another 2 days period of uploading problems leaves me wondering if i should continue blogging...
I am a tad biased to this gateway into the Joshua Tree National Park. Perhaps it is because I pass this endearing land mark almost everyday; or it may be the design of this sign reminds me of the Scare Crow in the Wizard of Oz when he tells Dorothy-"You can go this way; or, You can go that way. Either way, the Park Boulevard entrance is a delightful winding ride passing the Visitor's Center now run by ,"The Joshua Tree National Park Association." It is a must stop for any newbies into the park where you can obtain maps, information, -even books about our amazing desert world.
