on our return from a long desert hike with the dogs, our cowboys headed toward us. when the dust from a passing truck kicked the dirt behind them, I hit the sand and shot in rapid fire
It was well worth the sand in my elbows

it is something you have to experience for yourself
you could read about it
but
there is nothing that compares
after months of monotone colors all around
a long drought filled summer
wild life friends migrated away
suddenly
wildflowers arrive
after a day of bathing in their colors, shapes, forms sizes, textures-
rolling in the sand-camera in hands
-the sun begins to set
-anti climatic
my spirit longs for more
and then this-

oh it is such a Joy to see the young Gambles Quail have done well during the winter! little tiny wild flower blooms are just starting to peak out from the sand. They are predicting the biggest show of wild flowers in two decades, following the glorious rain and snow we have had this year in Joshu Tree California

this just in from my sweet daughter-my heart,my granddaughter, Miss Sadie who currently resides in various states of if being a fairy princess and recently attempted to overthrow the King and Queen (mom * dad) from their bedroom,by hauling her rather large tent castle through the narrow hallway of their home and rearranged it a top of their bed, followed by an announcement to the Queen (my daughter)
"Get Out" This is my Room!
