55 mph winds require fluffing and puffing to stay upright the male quail fluffs his stuff amid powerful desert winds. The mourning doves just go with the flow
DesertNana is headed out with those darn dogs for her daily walk. She was kind enough to leave me my favorite meat on my window feeder. You are surprised? Most folks are..You don't think of birds, as eating meat; but,we Road Runners do! As a matter of fact it is our favorite thing to eat! I am partial to rattle snake myself, but Nana says I have to grow a bit bigger before I can catch one of those huge Green Mojave Rattlers on my own! Nana does not like any killing, so when my dad(PaPa Road Runner) ,scooped up one of her house finch from her feeding station, she went chasing after him with the garden hose. The sad thing is, we road runners are really fast; so Dad was across the ranch and up over the fencing to the next ranch in less then one minute! Oh I have so many stories to share with you; but ,Nana just left off the property with that big black hairy dog -Jack-and the other one that scares me with her speed-Lady! I'm a gonna hop up onto my feeder and enjoy some dinner, uninterrupted,by those dogs or that old cat. C'mon back and see me again soon
We are Joyously welcoming Autumns late arrival here in the Mojave Desert whilst One Eyed Captain Jack Sparrow greets my new wide angle lens with a nice wet imprint of his adorable nose =)
